From the silent red dunes of the Kalahari to the ancient rock engravings of Twyfelfontein, and the wildlife-rich plains of Etosha, the Namib Odyssey is a 15-day journey through Namibia's most remote and captivating landscapes. Over desert tracks, riverbeds, and coastal roads, the convoy traces the paths of elusive desert elephants, explores towering dunes and hidden canyons, and experiences sunsets that ignite the sky. This expedition blends adventure, discovery, and reflection, inviting travellers to immerse themselves in the country's vastness, its quiet wonders, and the stories the land has whispered for millennia.

  1. Day 0

    Expedition Teams Meet

    A gentle arrival beneath the Khomas highlands, where your Expedition guides offer a warm welcome. Share a group dinner and meet the teams. After the briefing, rest as the city hums softly, the gateway to the vast unknown awaiting.

  2. Day 1

    Into the Kalahari

    The expedition vehicles are ready and waiting, engines primed for the journey ahead. The convoy sets off south, as the landscape shifts to red dunes and golden plains. Oryx and Springbok trace paths across acacia-studded horizons, & the vast, silent heart of the Kalahari Desert unfolds.

  3. Day 2

    Journey to Sossusvlei

    The convoy winds west from the Kalahari, traversing ever-changing landscapes as the endless sands of the Pro-Namib desert rise on the horizon. By evening the towering red dunes of the Namib Sand Sea loom over the accommodation, majestic and timeless.

  4. Day 3

    Sossusvlei Excursions

    Climb the shifting dunes beneath the cool dawn breeze. In the pans of Deadvlei, ancient camel thorns stand as silent guardians of the world's oldest desert. Explore the winding Sesriem Canyon, where shaded limestone walls offer respite from the unrelenting sun. As evening falls, the desert glows in amber and rose. The quiet expanse invites reflection and shared wonder.

  5. Day 4

    Exclusive Desert Crossing

    The journey turns off the map, following ancient tracks into the Namib Sand Sea. A unique route only few are permitted to pass. Follow your guide through vegetated dunes and rugged canyons carved by forgotten rivers. The desert floor tells stories of time, wind, and survival.

  6. Day 5

    Giants of the Namib Sand Sea

    Across the Tsondab pebble plains, the land rises into towering dunes of shifting red and gold giants. Tonight, the convoy rests between these ancient waves of sand, deep within the Namib's heart, beneath a sky alive with silence and stars. Solitude becomes luxury.

  7. Day 6

    Where the Dunes Meet the Atlantic Ocean

    After crossing the shifting dunes, the great Atlantic appears in stark contrast, endless and powerful. The convoy traverses the Langewand, guides telling stories that have been whispered across the wind of the brave souls who chased diamonds in the Sperrgebiet and ships lost to the Skeleton Coast's unforgiving torrents. The days adventure ends in Sandwich Harbour for the night.

  8. Day 7

    Coastal Charms of Swakopmund

    The convoy follows the beach north, past seal colonies, flamingos and two protected RAMZAR sites, before arriving at the harbour town of Walvis Bay. The first sign of civilisation after days of sacred silence. The afternoon will be spent in the charming town of Swakopmund, with German architecture, coffee shops, craft markets, and lively local bars. As evening falls, the town glows under soft coastal mist whilst the Atlantic whispers nearby.

  9. Day 8

    Hidden Stories of Twyfelfontein

    Travel into the red-rock valleys of Damaraland, where ancient engravings carved by early hunter- gatherer's whisper of lives long past. Dry riverbeds lead toward the hopeful promise of elusive desert elephants, wandering quietly through the heat-hazed plains. As evening settles, the landscape glows gold, holding its stories close beneath a vast desert sky.

  10. Day 9

    Wild Corridors to Palmwag

    The convoy follows winding riverbeds and rugged plains where desert-adapted wildlife thrives against the odds. Giraffe move like shadows across the basalt hills, and desert elephants leave quiet tracks in the sand. As you approach Palmwag, the vast wilderness deepens, glowing amber in the late afternoon light, inviting a peaceful evening in one of Namibia's most iconic wild regions.

  11. Day 10

    Passage Through the Wild Khowarib

    The track cuts through the Khowarib Schlucht, a remote canyon track where dust hangs in the still air and towering cliffs guard the passage. Few travellers venture here. The road winds toward the western frontier of Etosha National Park, where rugged horizons and quiet, untouched wilderness define the journey's edge.

  12. Day 11

    Etosha Awakens

    Awake at first light to the rhythm of the savannah, as elephants, giraffe, and zebra stir across the plains. Spend a full day exploring Etosha National Park, where shimmering pans and dense mopane forests reveal wildlife in their natural grace. By evening, settle amidst the mopane trees, the land humming softly under a vast African sky.

  13. Day 12

    Etosha's Hidden Corners

    A second full day unfolds across Etosha's northern reaches, where shimmering salt pans meet mopane woodlands. Herds drift like living mosaics, and lions, elephants, and antelope move through golden light. As evening descends, the savannah hush deepens, and the camp rests beneath a sky strewn with endless stars.

  14. Day 13

    Gentle Roads to Windhoek

    After two early mornings in Etosha, the convoy enjoys a leisurely start along smooth, paved roads. This is a welcome change from days on gravel and dusty desert tracks. The landscape shifts subtly, from rolling savannahs to gentle hills. The day ends at a game lodge, where the group gathers for a final sundowner, watching yet another iconic Namibian sunset paint the sky in gold and crimson, reflecting on the journey shared.

  15. Day 14

    Farewell to Namibia

    Wheels lift from the tarmac as Namibia stretches beneath, a tapestry of dunes, canyons, and savannahs fading into memory. Days of adventure, wildlife, and starlit nights leave a lasting echo, and the stories shared among the convoy linger, carrying the spirit of the desert long after departure.

The four ways to join

  • Option 1 - Shared Vehicle & Shared Room. Enjoy the expedition with a fellow traveler in a shared vehicle, while accommodation is in a double or twin room.
  • Option 2 - Private Vehicle & Shared Room. Drive independently in your own expedition-ready vehicle, while still sharing a double or twin room for accommodation.
  • Option 3 - Shared Vehicle & Private Room. Share the vehicle with a fellow adventurer but enjoy the privacy of your own room.
  • Option 4 - Private Vehicle & Private Room. For maximum independence and comfort, enjoy both your own vehicle and your own room throughout the expedition.
