The expedition

This 14-day expedition shifts from desert austerity to riverine abundance. From Namibia's remote northeast through Botswana's legendary wilderness systems, the Okavango Passage follows ancient migration routes shaped by water and time. Rivers replace dunes. Forests replace gravel plains. Wildlife densities rise dramatically. This is a multi-country journey into Africa's beating green heart.

Day by day as published by Gondwana Collection in the chapter brochure.

  5. Day 4

    Secrets of the Khaudum

The convoy pushes deeper into the remote wilderness of Khaudum National Park. 6. Day 5

    The flow of the Kwando

Leaving the deep sands of Khaudum behind, the landscape transforms as the convoy reaches the lush floodplains of the Kwando River. The air softens, reeds sway along winding channels, and the rhythm of water replaces the hush of dry woodland. Hippos stir in shaded pools and fish eagles call from tall trees overhead. After days in arid wilderness, the arrival at the Kwando feels almost cinematic. A vivid reminder that the Okavango begins long before the Delta itself, life gathering wherever the river flows.
